Meet Our Designer, Kristin Wachtel

​​Kristin’s love for nature has taken her on an exciting journey. She graduated with a BA in Political Science and German from Marquette University, hoping to pursue an international career. But her love for skiing led her to the beautiful slopes of Crested Butte.

While in Crested Butte, Kristin volunteered to lead wildflower mountain bike tours, sharing her knowledge of native plants and immersing herself in the outdoors. She later became a master gardener in Boulder and worked as a maintenance manager tending to clients’ landscapes. Her passion for transforming outdoor spaces drove her to study landscape design where she has honed her craft for the last 20 years.

In 2016, she initiated a volunteer project to renovate Eagle’s Crest Elementary playground. She led, organized, and executed a three-year plan to rejuvenate and add more natural playscape elements on the entire north campus. Additionally, she served as treasurer for the Association of Landscape Designers Colorado Chapter from 2016 to 2019.

Kristin is a skilled designer who is passionate about plants and natural systems. Her designs are a perfect blend of art and science, creating outdoor spaces that are not only functional but beautiful. Her expertise in design and project management, led to a wide range of projects such as outdoor kitchens, fire pits, hardscapes, new home builds, natural play spaces, beautiful perennial gardens, turf removal, meadow plantings, and vegetable gardens. She pays attention to every detail, big or small, to ensure that your landscape dream turns into a reality.

What truly sets Kristin apart is her gregarious personality. She thrives on building connections with her clients, turning each project into a collaborative journey. She’s a perfect partner for anyone looking to transform their outdoor space.
